Terri Jackley

Community Coach

Terri Jackley is a Ford NGL Community Coach.  As a teacher in Racine, WI, she was selected to attend a study visit at the Academies of Nashville.  Terri knew from that eye-opening experience she had to assist, advise and advocate for the academy model because it was not only valuable for students but also for the community at large.

Terri left her high school science classroom of 27 years to bring the academy model to Racine Unified School District in 2016.  She spent seven amazing years as an Academy Coach and as the Academies of Racine & Transformation Coordinator.  She loved communicating, collaborating and coordinating the implementation and sustainability of the Academies of Racine with students, staff, and community partners.  During this time, Terri co-facilitated the Academy Coach Circle with Ford NGL to inspire and connect other district leaders of this work.  This was her introduction to the Ford NGL family.

Today Terri is retired and in a new adventure with Ford NGL as a Community Coach.  As a coach she guides communities through transformation to build and establish PreK-12 community-connected learning using the academy model.  Her goal is to help facilitate strong foundational relationships, structures, processes and experiences by amplifying student voice.  She believes this is transformation with a capital T!  It requires innovative and growth mindset leadership of all community stakeholders as a team.  Both bulbs of the hourglass -school district and community- are needed to ensure ALL students at the pinch point have a valid, authentic and passionate next step after graduation.

Terri continues to live in the country in southeastern Wisconsin with her husband of 38 years.  They met at Nestle’s chocolate factory working third shift packaging 100 Grand bars during their summers of college.  Together they enjoy their family, friends, gardening, cooking and everything nature.
