Throughout the day, participants will:

Experience Center Line’s K–12 system through classroom observations and student-led learning experiences.

Hear authentic perspectives from students, educators, coaches, principals, district and school building leaders.
Explore how distributed leadership, accountability, and continuous improvement support long-term sustainability.

Learn how new leaders can honor existing progress while building ownership, trust, and a shared vision.

Examine how district leadership, school-level implementation, and distributed leadership work together to sustain transformation.
Reflect as a team and identify practical next steps for their own district and community.

A True Community
Connected Experience

Center Line offers a distinctive example of Community Connected transformation in a smaller, school district. Participants will experience its coherent K–12 system and see how the Portrait of a Graduate, community-connected learning, essential student experiences, and career academies and pathways work together.

The day will reveal how Center Line’s students, educators, coaches, and leaders have built, sustained, and renewed this work through leadership transitions and changing community needs.

The Learning Lab is intended for district and community leadership teams interested in exploring, leading, or strengthening Community Connected Career Academy transformation, including:

Teams will be encouraged to attend together so district, school, and community leaders can develop a shared understanding, hear the same messages, and leave with aligned expectations and next steps.

By the end of the experience, leadership teams will:

Understand the purpose and key elements of the Ford NGL Community Connected Career Academy model

See what the model looks like in practice across a PK–12 system
Understand the role district and community leadership play in launching and sustaining transformation
Learn strategies for building ownership, alignment, and distributed leadership
Recognize how accountability and continuous improvement support implementation
Identify practical next steps based on their own stage of the journey
